Focus Group Charter | Drive strategic collaboration across the broader O-RAN ecosystem to advance the adoption, expansion, and innovation of O-RAN-based technologies. This includes identifying and engaging both traditional and non-traditional stakeholders, including network operators, emerging suppliers, system integrators, in-building network providers, and industry verticals in areas like manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and defense. IEFG focuses on building synergies with key ecosystem players to identify and reduce barriers to adoption, encourage investment, and support the scalable deployment of O-RAN technologies in diverse environments. By complementing the work of other O-RAN technical groups, IEFG supports ecosystem development and external engagement in a way that aligns with, without overlapping, the deliverables of those groups. |
Focus Group Scope | The IEFG supports the O-RAN ALLIANCE’s external visibility by complementing the marketing and communication activities already carried out by the EC. Its focus is on extending engagement to relevant ecosystem segments - e.g. Mobile Networks, DAS/In-building providers, NTN and other eco-systems, as well as other verticals that could benefit from O-RAN flexibility and innovation. In this role, IEFG: · Develops tailored engagement approaches to help these segments understand how O-RAN technologies can address their specific needs and use cases. · Coordinates with and support the EC to align external marketing actions such as press releases, LinkedIn content, website updates, and industry event participation. · Identifies opportunities where O-RAN adoption can be demonstrated through concrete examples and success stories relevant to these segments. |
